God Gave Us You - Book Review

The book God Gave Us You, by Lisa Tawn Bergren is a wonderfully written account of how God gave Little Cub to Mama and Papa Cub. Each of our children were given to us by God to take care of. This book shows how much the parents wanted a baby of their own and how God chose the perfect match for their family. I was very impressed with how similar this story was to my own "birth" story for my daughter. Dayton Counting

Dayton loves to count and has recently started counting to 13. He asked me to video him this morning, and of course, I did!!

Kylah has been studying the presidents at school and really wanted to go to Washington DC. We decided that Hodgenville was much closer and we could learn a little more about our 16th president from the great state of Ky for now and make a trek to DC when both kids can appreciate it.

Hot Rods Game

Saturday night, we attended a Hot Rods game. We had promised the kids fireworks after the game...who knew the game would go into extra innings and it would be after 11 before the fireworks actually started??? The kids didn't get in bed until after 11:30!!

Lads to Leaders Song Leading

Kylah was able to lead a song at Lads to Leaders this year. She did a wonderful job singing, "Awesome God." She worked so hard and you can see at the end that she wasn't really ready for the song to end, we practiced it differently than the other ladies in the room sang it. She didn't get to close the song at the end and she was a bit upset about that. She still did an excellent job!!

Fierce Beauty, by Kim Meedor is a book about true beauty. "True beauty is not about how you look but how you live." God does call us to be beautiful, just not in the way the world tries to tell us. Righteous beauty is described as a sunset, nothing can stop it from happening. What a wonderful insight to God's plan for us. My goal is to attain this righteous beauty! Meedor gives many examples from her adventurous life in this book.
