Kylah & Poppy Cooking

Nana & Poppy came for a visit this afternoon. Kylah took both of them to her room to play with her. She and Poppy cooked for a little while.

While they were here, Kylah accidentally gave Nana a boo-boo. Nana now has a swollen lip. Kylah apologized many times, saying "Sarsey, sarsey" and giving kisses to Nana.

Family Time

This afternoon we went to visit with Derek's family. We ate Mexican and all had a good time. Kylah liked eating nachos (well, one bite, but at least she tried it!!)

New Retreat?

Kylah has discovered "under the table". She played there for a long time yesterday. She read a book, cleaned the floor for me, and just sat there. It is her new retreat, I guess.

Coloring

Yesterday, Kylah was in a coloring mood. She colored for probably 20 minutes, which is way longer than her attention can be focused on one thing. She did a really good job.

Girls Night Out

Last night, I got some much needed time to myself. Don't get me wrong, staying home with Kylah is the most rewarding job ever, BUT I am almost always with her. She was in need of some Daddy-Daughter time as well. Derek has been working a lot lately and so Kylah has really been missing him. On the last Tuesday of every month, some of the girls from church go out to eat. I had never been before, although I had thought about it several times. Dawn and I decided we would go and we had a great time. We ate at Zaxby's - which was very full and very loud last night. There were only 8 of us there, but it was fun. I did miss Kylah and Derek, but I had a great time with some great ladies. I wish I would have remembered to take my camera to take some pictures of our fun, but I guess since Kylah wasn't with me, it didn't even cross my mind to take it.

My Ladybug

These were taken yesterday morning before church.

Always on the phone!

Yesterday for lunch, Kylah had Cheerios. I know they are breakfast food, but when you find something that she will actually eat, she eats it whenever. She did a really good job of feeding herself, with minimal mess!!

Grandma came for a visit today. Kylah had a lot of fun playing with her in her Rose Petal Cottage.

Oh What a Day

Our day started out really well. Kylah fed herself her breakfast - nice break for me, we went to Nana and Poppy's for lunch, and then the "adventure" began. After lunch and a visit, Derek and I left Kylah to visit a little longer with Nana and Poppy while we took a quick trip to Uncle Lee's in Greenville. This was to be a quick trip and we would be back within 2 hours (or so we thought). When we got in the car after leaving Uncle Lee's, it wouldn't start, but was making a strange sound and the gauges would try to do something, but not much. Luckily, a nice man stopped to help jump the battery. At first it didn't work, the same strange sound would happen each time I would try to start it, but it wouldn't actually start. Finally, after many attempts, the car started, BUT then when the guy unhooked the jumper cables, it went off. We tried again, it worked and Derek got us to Wal-Mart for a new battery. I was a little frazzled, wondering how we were ever going to get home. I would have been in so much trouble if I had been by myself. Luckily, Derek knew to put it in Neutral and rev the gas while we had to stop at signs and lights. They replaced the battery and now all is well. Kylah ended up staying at Nana and Poppy's for about 4 hours instead of the original 2, but she didn't mind and I am pretty sure that they were happy to have her there.

Kylah eating breakfast. She is getting really good with a fork, as you will see in the pictures below. However, a spoon is a different story - unless it is something pretty sticky.

Kylah decided that she would go through my closet this morning, this is what she looked like when she came out.

18 month photos

This is a really neat site that you should check out. You can do all kinds of neat stuff with your pictures and it posts it straight to your blog for you.

The pictures were taken at Sears when Kylah was 18 months old. They are a little old now, but I wanted to share them anyway. Joy at Sears has always taken Kylah's pictures and done such a good job. Unfortunately, she is leaving and I don't know what we will do when it is time to get more pictures taken.

Playdate at Zoe's

Kylah got to make 2 new friends today: Zoe and Audrey.
We went to Zoe's house. Kylah enjoyed having different toys to play with, but was still a bully with the girls and took their toys away from them. The girls looked so cute in their ballerina skirts.
She finally decided to give Zoe her phone back.

Grandma and Grandpa

On Wednesday, Kylah got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for a few hours, while Derek and I ran some errands.

Kylah insisted on wearing an apron like Grandma.

Fun Day Sunday

Kylah and her friend Ella from church.
Taking care of "Phoebe". She insisted on sitting in the glider.
Walking in daddy's shoes.
After church, we had homemade ice cream. The kids got balloons - which Kylah loved.

Nana and Poppy

Nana and Poppy came for a visit today. Derek is at work, so they try to entertain us on those days when they can. Kylah enjoys getting to see them and especially when Poppy empties out his pockets for her to fill up her piggy bank.
Kylah giving Poppy a high five.
Filling up the Piggy Bank - Kylah loves hearing the coins clang, but also will sometimes ask Poppy for some dollars. Giving Nana a kiss.

Cookout

Last night, we went to Bradley and Sam's for a cookout. Kylah had fun playing with both of them and getting to see Nana and Poppy. Bradley and Sam got Kylah a baby and stroller and she pushed it around all night like she was a mommy.
Yesterday morning, Derek caught us being silly.
