We have been so busy lately and have had a few computer issues. Stay tuned for pictures of our trip to Nashville Zoo, Kylah helping daddy build our deck, Trunk-or-Treat, and who knows what else.

Kylah is a big fan of Elmo, she calls him "Melmo". When I found this sweatshirt at the Little Angels Attic consignment sale, I had to buy it for her. She got to wear it for the first time today and loved it!!

This afternoon Kylah took a nap while I was on the computer - it was too sweet and I had to share the picture. You can't really tell in the picture, but she is on a pillow in the floor beside the computer.

Darren & Shanna

We went to church with Grandma, Pop Pop, Darren and Shanna yesterday morning. Pop Pop was speaking and we didn't want to miss out. He did a REALLY good job!! I so wished that I could take pictures at church - Kylah would only sit with Darren and Shanna and was so good the whole time. She was especially drawn to Uncle Darren the whole day. She didn't want to come to me when it was time to leave church to go and eat, SO Darren carried her to the truck and put her in (how sweet!). Then she gave him numerous hugs and kisses when we got to Donald and Shauna's house - as you will see in the pictures that follow!

On or Off?

Kylah has recently started trying to dress and un-dress herself. She is really good at taking off her pants, and luckily hasn't tried to do it anywhere but home. However, she takes them off quite a bit at home and wants me to put them back on her - we're working on her doing it all by herself... She is now really good at taking most shirts off, as long as they don't have buttons. In the video above, she got the shirt over her neck, but then couldn't get past that - it was a couple of weeks ago and pretty much has it down now. I think it is hilarious, but one day Kylah will hate it!! Oh, and for the record, I did help her after I videoed this.

Happy Surprise Fake Birthday to Me

Today was my surprise fake birthday!! Derek has me a "fake" birthday almost every year. It is a different month each time, but always on the 11th. My real birthday is December 11, and I commented one time about how much I disliked my birthday being so close to Christmas as a kid. Derek, being the wonderful guy that he is remembered that, and although it isn't a big deal to me now, I do look forward to my surprise birthday - I never know when I will have one or if I even will. One year we went to Horse Cave Theater to see 'Steel Magnolias', one time we went on a ride on the General Jackson. This year tops them all and was the biggest surprise of all - we went to Bardstown for a ride on the Dinner Train!! Thank you, Derek, for making my day so special, you are the best!! :o) The train only goes so far on the 2 1/2 hour ride, and then the engine has to move to the other end of the train and bring you back. We were in the last car going and the first car coming back. Here you see the engine coming to us to switch places and right beside us.

Kylah missed Chloe so much while we were gone. When she came over yesterday, Kylah couldn't give her enough hugs and kisses. It was so cute, but also looked a little dangerous for poor Chloe. Kylah doesn't always understand that she has to be gentle!

While we were gone, Grandpa had a birthday. Today we were able to help him celebrate. We all went to eat and then back to his house for gifts, cake and ice cream (which Kylah loved!!). Kylah had a great time entertaining everyone - as usual. She loves to be the center of attention. She liked wearing the raccoon hat and dressing up. We hope that Grandpa (aka Pop Pop) had a great birthday!

Harmonica Lesson

For our anniversary, Derek and I went to Clarksville to eat at the Olive Garden. Kylah stayed with Nana and Poppy and learned a new talent - Poppy taught her how to play the harmonica!!

5 years and counting!!!

Wow, I can hardly believe that 5 years ago this morning, Derek and I were about to say "I do". Time has flown by so quickly, and we have made so many wonderful memories already. So far in our short 5 years, we have been to 38 states in our goal of visiting all 50, which will slow down now, but we'll get them all eventually. We have a beautiful, smart daughter for which we are so very thankful. We also have wonderful friends and family to share our time with as well. I would definitely do it all over again in a heartbeat.
