Firefighter demonstrations were held at Home Depot this evening. They have this every year, but this was the first time I've had a chance to go. I was very impressed with the way the guys did everything!!Propane burn simulation

Derek ended up working overtime today. We were planning to go to this anyway, but since he was working on a rescue truck, we got to see him in action. I really had no idea what all was involved with an auto extrication. Some things about his job I'd really rather not know anyway...
We had Dayton's party at the fire station. Derek was on duty and today was the only day that worked for everyone to come. It was a good place to have a party!
Kylah and I were trying to help him taste the icing.
The boys: Ryder (9 1/2 months), Dayton and Tatum (7 months)
Cousins!!
Right at the end, the guys had to make a run - it was kind of neat that we got to watch them leave.
We turned Dayton around before our trip since he will be one next week and so he could see what we see when riding. For the most part he really likes it, but he gets tired of being "stuck" anywhere for too long, he'd much rather be up and on the move!
Checking to see if Kylah is looking at him.
"Look, I can see out!!"

We all had our pictures made in the giant wooden shoes in Holland, MI.
We went to the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, MI. It would have been a bit better a few weeks ago when all the animals were there. Most of them had gone south for the winter...
Kylah with her favorite animal, the flamingo!
Kylah and Derek at the pool.
Dayton kept himself entertained part of the time playing peek-a-boo!
I am a stay-at-home mom to Kylah, born in Jan. 2007 and Dayton, born in Oct. 2009. I am married to the most wonderful man, Derek. He is a wonderful husband and father! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful life!
