The Little Mermaid, Jr.

Kindergarten classes at Kylah's school went to see The Little Mermaid, Jr. this morning.  It was a really good play put on by some VERY talented young actors from the area.  I was very impressed!!

Sprained Ankle

On Friday afternoon, I lost my balance in the garage and as I was trying to catch myself and keep from falling on Dayton, I sprained my ankle/foot very badly!  I called Derek (who was about an hour away) crying and told him I had broken my ankle and couldn't get up...Luckily, it wasn't broken, but it sure hurt when it happened!! This is how it looked at Urgent Care on Friday afternoon.
Saturday night, it was swollen the most - it didn't really hurt unless I tried to put weight on it.

Washing clothes yesterday using my crutches (or crunches as Dayton calls them).
My foot this morning, all bruised up - most of the swelling has gone, but now my toes are swollen...

My stylish boot!!

On Friday I never thought I'd be able to walk as soon as I have.  I do still need that boot on to walk any at all, but I have really improved a lot and maybe when all the swelling is gone I can try walking without the boot?  I'm kinda scared to try it - I'm thinking it will be a lot easier to hurt it again...

Aquarium

Today we went to Opry Mills, of course to visit Bass Pro.  While we were there, we decided to eat somewhere expensive fun for the kids.  We were going to eat at the Rainforest Cafe, but the kids weren't too keen on the atmosphere there, so we went to the Aquarium Restaurant instead.  They were a little apprehensive of the shark that was going around taking pictures with customers, needless to say we didn't get any pictures with the shark.

This was our view while we ate.

I apologize for the not so great pictures, they look great on my phone, but when I got them on here, they don't look quite so good...

The Girl's Still Got It - book review

If you enjoy reading the Bible book of Ruth, you are sure to love this book!!  Liz Curtis Higgs, from Louisville, KY, has written a very in-depth book on the small book of Ruth.  In fact, the book of Ruth only has four chapters, but Higgs' book took four chapters to cover the first chapter from the Bible!!  She really goes into detail about the customs and ways of that time period.

She actually takes us along as if we are there in Moab and Bethlehem right along side Ruth, Naomi and Boaz, that wonderful kinsman-redeemer!  The Girl's Still Got It is wonderfully written and really helped me to  understand the book even more.

If you are interested, but not quite sure you want to read this book, why not check out Chapter 1 and see how it starts.  I would almost guarantee that after that first chapter, you will be ordering this book to read the rest!!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

First Day of Kindergarten

My baby girl started school this morning.  Yes, she has started school a few times already in preschool, but today is THE first day of school.  Today is the start of Kindergarten - all day, every day!  I know she is ready, I'm just not sure I am!!
When she got up this morning - all smiles!!

 Kylah and good friend, Chloe

Off to class...sniff, sniff (for me, not her!)

I can NOT believe my baby girl is in Kindergarten and will be gone all day every day!!  What are we supposed to do without her??
