Shower Cleaner Via Pinterest

I hate to admit it, but we have a soap scum build up in our shower - part hard water stains, part scum.  I have tried numerous products, but none have ever really gotten rid of it totally.  I saw a "miracle recipe" for shower cleaner on Pinterest and figured it wouldn't hurt to at least try it.  So, tonight I decided to give it a try.  Here is the before - it was hard to get a good picture...

This is a during picture...I sprayed the Dawn/vinegar concoction all over the shower.  As you can tell from the picture, it didn't really run down, it mostly stayed where I sprayed it.  After about 30 minutes, I started cleaning.  That part took a while because the Dawn was very sudsy once I started wiping.  It ended up taking about 30 minutes to get it all wiped and rinsed, but the results were well worth it!!

AFTER!  Again, hard to see, but it is really shiny and looking really good!! Can't wait to see what Derek says when he gets home in the morning!!
The only complaint that I really had with this stuff was the awful vinegar smell when I sprayed the shower down and while it was setting.  Kylah really didn't like it!!  However, once you start wiping it down, the Dawn smell comes through strong enough to get rid of the vinegar smell and now my bathroom smells nice and clean!!

I ADORE this cleaner! I've never found anything that worked as well. I didn't have problems with sudsing, though - I mean, it did a little, but not bad. I've heard some people say not to do a 50/50 mix and instead do a little less Dawn and a little more vinegar to help with the suds.

I'm with you on the smell. I actually have to run out of the room to get some fresh air several times while I'm doing the initial spray but then it seems to fade and I'm fine when it's timet to wipe it off.

Val, it's just a one to one ratio of Dawn and vinegar...super easy!
