Camping in January

Derek went on a Camping Challenge January 29.  Surprisingly, the temperatures were unseasonably warm.  However, there was a tornado watch and thunderstorms that night.

At the Feet of Jesus - book review

Looking for a great devotional?  Look no further!  At the Feet of Jesus by Joanna Weaver is a wonderful devotional book that is easy to read and helps put you in the heart of Mary.

Each day has a devotional, scripture to read and a reflection to end the session.  At the end of the book is a yearly plan to read through the Bible as well.

If you go here, you will be able to read the first few days to see how the book is organized, then I am sure you will want to order this book for yourself!!

"I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review."

Upward Basketball

Today was Kylah's first game, but her teams second.  She had the flu last weekend and didn't get to play.  She was very ready to go today!!
Praying before the game.

6 Already!

 Kylah at birth - 9 lbs. 1 1/4 oz.

1st birthday - 19 lbs. 8 oz.
2nd birthday - 23 lbs.
3rd birthday - 28 1/2 lbs.
4th birthday - 32 lbs.
5th birthday - 36 lbs.
6th birthday - 40 lbs.

This year, Kylah got her ears pierced for her birthday!  So far, she is doing a great job keeping them clean and rotated.  It is so hard to believe that she is growing up as quickly as she is.  We sure are blessed with a wonderful daughter - so glad God chose us to be her parents!!

Ears Pierced

All Kylah wanted for her birthday this year, was her ears pierced.  We went this afternoon after we picked her up from school.  She did great and so far is loving her decision!!

2013

Wow, it sure doesn't seem like a new year should be here.  Time is moving ever so fast, and I can't seem to make it slow down!!

Instead of trying, I guess I'll just enjoy what this new year brings our way...
  • This past Saturday marked Derek's 15 year anniversary at the fire department.  Which means in 5 years he can retire at the ripe old age of 42!!
  • This Saturday will be Kylah's first basketball game.  She is playing Upward this year for the first time and is beyond excited!!
  • The 14th is our baby girl's 6th birthday - that truly does NOT seem possible!!
Those are just a few highlights for the month of January.  I know that God has some wonderful things planned for our little family this year and I can't wait to see what they are!!
