My main problem in all this was I was trying to do it all by myself. When I finally decided to ask God to help Dayton be ready and for my patience in the whole ordeal, things started working!! I don't know why I try to do so many things on my own - you'd think by now I would have learned to go THE SOURCE for everything.
After asking for tips on Facebook and reading this blog entry, I was determined to give it a try - I sure had nothing to lose! I prayed long and hard before starting this endeavor, and boy did it make a difference!!
Yesterday we started. I didn't do everything exactly like the blog stated, but I had something to go on and adapted it to work for us. Dayton only had 2 accidents all day, one of those was during nap time, which I won't even count!! He got to put LOTS of stickers on his chart and had a BUNCH of car marshmallows!! He was so proud of himself, which made things go much more smoothly than it could have gone. By lunch, he was telling me when he needed to go!
Day 2 went way better than I ever expected!! He told me every time but once that he needed to go, the other time I asked him to try for me since it had been quite a while and he went. No accidents at all today, even during nap time!!
I am still putting diapers on him at nighttime and haven't quite decided how I'm going to handle church in the morning. I am thinking pullups might be the easiest, just in case he has an accident, but since he is doing so well, I definitely don't want to mess things up...

Oh, I remember those days, you can't fight it that's for sure. We did the sticker chart with both kids and it worked. Good Luck and Way to GO, Dayton!!!
God is so kind to us! So glad that He allowed the initial potty days to be smooth for y'all.
It's gonna be a while before Luke gets there I think :)
Potty training can be so tough! I remember pushing my daughter and then realizing I needed to wait until she was more ready. So we took some time off and came back to trying later and it went so much easier. It seems like every kid goes at his or her own pace.
